Women in Chemistry

Virginia Valian Visit

Virginia Valian's talk highlighted how our perceptions of how women and men should be impacts on how we evaluate them.  A striking example was how men and women working in international businesses had salaries that were impacted differently by their qualifications (if men spoke a foreign language, they had higher than average salaries, if women spoke a foreign language, they had lower than average salaries). Here are some links to Valians on-line resources:

If any of you have any interesting observations or strong impressions you would like to share from Valians talk , email them to cjarrold@indiana.edu, and we'll post them in this spot.
